Design thinking is about solving problems. The right problems for the right reasons. Our solutions emerge on a foundation of informed decisions.
Common Engagement Types
Each engagement type fulfills a unique organizational need. In any of these scenarios, close collaboration and transparency is key, as is a faith in user-centered design principles.
Many of our engagements fulfill a well-defined need, like an e-commerce website, mobile app, or services catalog. For these, we bring the right skillsets and methods to manage the full breadth of the project.
For Liberty Mutual, we designed and deployed three separate websites, each for a specific business unit.
In some cases, the path to a solution is not yet clear. So, we break the challenge down into logical subsets, which we attack in sprints. We are big believers in “prototyping to think,” and we understand the value of quickly producing tangible things and validating them with stakeholders.
Working with a DC-based partner, we did two spikes of four sprints to help define an asset management application for the United States Air Force.
Some clients have disparate challenges, and just need to infuse their team with UX expertise to address them. In these cases, we become an integral part of the team, evolving the organization’s design capabilities and processes so they can provide a variety of digital experiences for their customers or employees.
Partnering with the CIO of a large healthcare network, our team is identifying opportunities and ongoing roadmap to enhance the employee digital experience.
Design Thinking at the Core
The Double Diamond
The solution emerges through iterative cycles of divergent and convergent thinking
We go wide, then decide
Keys to Product Success
Ensure we build the right thing for the right people
Employ rapid experiments that enable us to continually evaluate our ideas
Reduce waste and accelerate delivery through better cooperation between design and development
Test. Iterate. Repeat. When it comes to designing a new product or service, it’s essential to continually elicit customer feedback.
Fortunately, there are a lot of different ways to do this today, and it is easier than ever to mine the resulting data to make design decisions.
No one has the time or resources to release digital products into the world without knowing they’ll succeed. That’s why we always validate our choices with customers as we move through the design process.
A Practical Approach to Technology
Navigating complex enterprise systems is second nature to us. We grasp technology, its limitations and quirks. So we won’t waste your time proposing solutions that are impossible or impractical.
While we design user-focused solutions, the need to understand technical feasibility is vital and our knowledge helps accelerate implementation.
